- You are entitled to the same conditions as Swedish workers! Swedish law makes no distinction between these workers and workers from Ukraine, Romania, Latvia, Tanzania or Uzbekistan. If you work in Sweden, you have the same rights as Swedish workers.
- You’re entitled to a Swedish wage! Exactly how big depends on your occupation, experience and qualifications. For example, an animal caretaker with three years of experience should earn at least 167 SEK per hour, and a machine operator should earn at least 178 SEK per hour.
- You’re entitled to paid annual leave! You’re entitled to five weeks of paid annual leave every year. If you work for less than half a year, you can receive your holiday pay as a 12 per cent bonus on top of your salary.
- You are entitled to extra pay for working night shifts, at weekends and on public holidays! The extra pay varies between 47 and 123 SEK per hour, with the lowest rate on weekday evenings and the highest on public holidays.
- You are entitled to extra pay for overtime! When you work more than 40 hours a week, you are entitled to overtime pay. The rate is an extra 70 SEK per hour on weekdays and an extra 118 SEK at weekends.
- You have the right to be a member of a trade union! As long as you aren’t a member of a trade union, your rights exist only in theory. It is through membership of a trade union that you can claim all the rights to which you are legally entitled. Our trade union is called SAC. We aren’t the biggest union, but we are undoubtedly the best at protecting migrant workers’ rights.
